Tips
Write a CLAUDE.md
Run /init in Claude Code, then edit the file: build and test commands, code style, and things it must never do. It's read every session.
Plan before code
Ask the coding agent for a plan first and review it before any file changes. Fixing a plan costs seconds; unpicking a bad diff costs an afternoon.
Let tests steer
Have the AI write a failing test for the bug, then fix the code until it passes. A test is a goal it can check itself.
Clear between tasks
Use /clear in Claude Code when you switch to an unrelated task. Leftover context from the last job quietly confuses the next one.
Use project rules
Put framework versions, folder conventions and "don't add new dependencies" in Cursor's project rules so every chat starts with them.
Commit before you prompt
Commit (or stash) before letting an agent make big changes. git diff shows you exactly what it did, and a reset undoes it.
