Tips
Make it interview you
End a prompt with "Before you start, ask me up to 5 questions you need answered." You'll get far better output than guessing at what context it needs.
Show one example
One good example of the output you want beats a paragraph describing it. Paste a sample and say "match this format and tone".
Fence your inputs
Wrap pasted material in tags like <document>…</document> or triple quotes. The model can tell your instructions apart from the content you want it to work on.
Give it permission to not know
Add "If you're not sure, say so rather than guessing." It's a simple line that cuts down on confident nonsense.
Ask for a critique pass
After a draft, ask: "Critique this as a sceptical expert, then rewrite it fixing the three biggest problems." Two passes beat one long prompt.
Start fresh when it drifts
Long chats collect stale context. When answers get worse, ask for a summary of decisions so far, open a new chat and paste it in.
